Heavyweight vintage Southwest handwoven wool blanket with fringe

I was told by seller this was from the 1940's. It appears to be of Native American Navajo origin but I'm not an expert in this field so please use your own judgement

Length (excluding fringe): 91-1/2”
Width: 57”
Fringe length: 2”

Good vintage condition with minor wear and fading consistent with its near 100 year ages. The center seam is visible where the two sides have been attached. See last photo.

NOTE:
Please bear that in mind that, when you purchase vintage, it might not be perfect, but it will be authentic. No returns will be accepted on vintage items so make sure that you read the description and look at the pictures before committing to a purchase. Please contact me if you have additional questions about the nature and condition of the product.

My archeological artery dilated at this rare encounter. The nomadic Navajo settled in the Southwest in the 10th and 11th centuries and created a fascinating folklore around the designs of their weave. The jagged edges are a spiritual trope symbolizing lightning. The orange color brings my small office to life, as it does the robes of the slight figures of Buddhist monks. Dr. G. Heath King
